The School Games and Activity Development Foundation (SGADF) has announced legal action against individuals allegedly involved in creating and circulating a disputed letter that the organization claims was used to damage the reputation of SGADF and its founder, Shivam Thakur.
According to SGADF, the letter, which has been widely circulated on WhatsApp groups, Facebook pages, YouTube channels, Instagram accounts, and other social media platforms, was falsely presented in the name of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA). The organization has stated that the document is fake, misleading, and part of a deliberate attempt to create confusion within the sports community.
SGADF has alleged that the document was created and circulated by individuals associated with the Youth Sports Council of India, including Amar Singh Rana. The organization claims that the purpose of the document was to tarnish the image of SGADF and Shivam Thakur, who has been working in the field of sports development since 2017.
In an official statement, SGADF said that it has gathered documentary evidence, screenshots, digital records, and other supporting materials related to the circulation of the letter. The foundation further stated that the matter has been placed before relevant authorities and legal advisors for appropriate action.
SGADF has issued a public legal notice requesting all individuals, organizations, social media pages, groups, and content creators who have shared or forwarded the disputed letter to remove it immediately.
The organization has warned that any person continuing to publish, distribute, promote, or forward the document after being informed of the dispute may face legal consequences under applicable laws.
The foundation emphasized that spreading unverified allegations against a sports organization or an athlete without verified evidence can cause serious reputational damage.
"Sports should be built on fairness, transparency, and respect. Attempts to malign individuals or organizations without proper facts harm not only those directly affected but also the wider sports ecosystem," the organization stated.
Shivam Thakur, Founder of SGADF, is known for his involvement in sports development initiatives and athlete welfare programs. Under his leadership, SGADF has organized various national and international sporting activities, awareness campaigns, athlete support programs, and recognition platforms for players across India.
The organization stated that any effort to spread allegedly false information against an athlete or sports administrator will be challenged through appropriate legal channels.
SGADF has appealed to athletes, parents, coaches, schools, academies, and sports organizations to verify information from official sources before sharing it on social media.
The foundation reiterated that it remains committed to sports development, youth empowerment, athlete support, and maintaining transparency within the Indian sports community.
"Truth and verified facts must prevail over misinformation. We urge everyone to act responsibly and refrain from sharing unverified content that may harm the reputation of individuals or organizations."
