The School Games and Activity Development Foundation (SGADF) has issued a public legal notice regarding the continued circulation of an alleged fake letter being shared across social media platforms, WhatsApp groups, Facebook pages, Instagram accounts, YouTube channels, and other digital platforms.
According to SGADF, the document, which has been circulated in the name of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), is false, misleading, and has been used to create confusion within the sports community. The organization has stated that the document was allegedly created and distributed with the intention of damaging the reputation of SGADF and its founder, Shivam Thakur.
SGADF has clarified that it has collected supporting evidence, screenshots, records, and related documents concerning the matter and is currently pursuing the issue through appropriate legal and administrative channels.
In its official statement, SGADF has appealed to all individuals, organizations, social media pages, groups, and content creators who have shared or forwarded the disputed document to immediately remove it from their platforms.
The foundation has provided a 24-hour window for the removal of the content and has warned that continued circulation of allegedly false and defamatory material may result in legal proceedings against those responsible for publishing, sharing, forwarding, or promoting the document.
SGADF emphasized that spreading unverified information against any athlete, sports administrator, or sports organization without proper evidence can cause serious reputational damage and create unnecessary confusion among athletes, parents, coaches, and educational institutions.
The organization further stated that the issue is not only about a single institution but also about protecting the dignity of athletes and maintaining transparency within the Indian sports ecosystem.
Founded in 2017, SGADF has been working in the areas of sports development, physical education, youth empowerment, talent promotion, and athlete support. According to the organization, millions of students and athletes have participated in its various championships, awareness programs, training camps, and sports development initiatives across India.
The foundation has also organized several national and international sporting events and recognition programs, including the Khel Gaurav Awards, through which numerous athletes and sports personalities have been honored for their contributions to sports.
SGADF has appealed to the public to verify information from official sources before sharing it online and has urged social media users to act responsibly while dealing with documents that may affect the reputation of individuals or organizations.
The foundation reiterated its commitment to transparency, athlete welfare, youth empowerment, and sports development and stated that it will continue to take all necessary legal steps to protect the interests of athletes and the integrity of the sports community.
"Truth, transparency, and respect for athletes must always prevail over misinformation and unverified allegations."
